What You Will Do:

The Production Test Technician will test, evaluate, and troubleshoot complex electronic and electro-mechanical components and assemblies, primarily for aerospace and avionics systems. This role is integral to maintaining quality and conformance with design specifications by performing standard tests, including environmental, qualification, and EMI testing. The technician will utilize standard production work instructions, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment and software manuals to perform environmental stress testing of various human-machine interface products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Testing and Validation: Perform functional, environmental, and qualification tests, including DVT, HALT/HASS, ESS, and EMI testing, on electronic and electro-mechanical components and assemblies following documented processes and standard workflows.
  • Technical Documentation: Create detailed test reports. Maintain accurate records of all testing activities. Create discrepancy reports upon finding of failed and discrepant tests.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Use common test equipment, hand and power tools, to perform testing, set-up, and teardown of systems integrated with mobile or fixed site solutions. Troubleshoot and provide input for repair to test equipment as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Confirm line defects and ensure conformance with standards using industry-specific guidelines such as AS9100, MIL-STD 202, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA DO-160.
  • Collaboration: Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and Component Maintenance Manuals to identify correct procedures and support engineering team as necessary.
  • Special Projects: Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Preferred Education

  • High school, GED, or equivalent preferred
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent a plus
  • Technical leadership experience a plus

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with electronics manufacturing, testing, or other related technical field preferred
  • Previous experience in Test Engineering or equivalent a plus

Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities

  • Environmental testing with thermal / humidity / saltfog / rain chambers, hot/cold testing, vibration testing, humidity testing, troubleshooting test boxes, and fixing test cables or harnesses (may also include EMI testing)
  • Use of ERP Systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency with testing, environmental, and production equipment.
  • Strong experience reading and interpreting production work instructions, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using industry-standard specifications such as MIL-STD 202, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA DO-160.
  • Excellent written communication skills for interpreting clear and accurate work instructions and reports.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to provide test support
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks of varying priority level.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office
  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift more than 25 lbs

Hourly Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $26.56 - $40.64 Hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity
