What You Will Do: 

The Machinist performs routine machine operations including set-ups, optimizes machine parameters and inputs on machines in their work centers with general supervision. In addition, operator will also assist with any operational issues that could arise. Works on assignments semi-routine in nature; has the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice when required. Re-stocking of materials occurs as well. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Performs advanced work processes with a solid understanding of Lean instructions.
  • Detailed procedures for new assignments and special projects are provided.
  • Programs and operates moderately complex computerized machining equipment.
  • Performs non-standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining, using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; in-process inspection, material transactions, and performs some clerical functions.
  • Plans and executes moderately complex assignments using machine tools and equipment ranging from Manually Controlled equipment to CNC Machines.
  • Follows and adheres to a daily schedule of assigned work.
  • Utilizes broad variety of metals and extensive knowledge of measurements.
  • Performs on-line and off-line programming.
  • Understands and lives by the Korry’s culture.

 Preferred Education and Experience   

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Trade school certification a plus 
  • 2-5 years’ related machining

Skills and Abilities  

  • Exhibits strong communication skills. 
  • Willing to work extra hours, and potentially weekends as needed.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Solid understanding of Lean principles.
  • Machinery & operational personal safety knowledge
  • Ability to use and calibrate gauge settings and equipment to recognize the condition of dies.
  • Proficient with reading work-order schedules to production information; the size, type, and quantity to process.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Capable of altering simple programs, adjusts codes to work through material obstacles.
  • Self-sufficient in all areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Works well with others as an equal team member; sharing and learning.
  • Safety conscious behavior

Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $30.00 - $43.00 Hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity
