What You Will Do 


The Material Planner is responsible to plan and monitor the flow of material from receipt of demand through the manufacturing process. They are responsible for synchronizing material availability with final assembly build schedules for their assigned work centers. They will maintain and adjust line side inventory sizes, internal Kanban sizes, and safety stock sizes to meet customer schedules. They are responsible to create job orders, ensure jobs are completed on time, and job orders are delivered to shipping to meet the customer’s schedule in accordance with the backlog. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collects shortage information and expedite materials to jobs as required 
  • Defines and proactively adjusts inventory levels (line side inventory, internal Kanban, safety stock, finished goods) 
  • Recommends and implements ideas to improve product velocity, right-size inventory levels, and reduced overall costs 
  • Manages complex bills of materials 
  • Manages and executes complex engineering change orders 
  • Manages obsolescence and stock depletion 
  • Creates and regularly updates lines of balance 
  • Reschedules job orders to meet customer schedules 
  • Inputs job order status and delivery information for Customer Service 
  • Maintain item master modifiers 
  • Leads meetings with regards materials needs 

 
Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. 
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience preferred. 

 
Skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience in the practical application of MRP, scheduling, order policies and modifiers, capacity planning, product structures, shop floor control, and product families 
  • Proficient with Excel 
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve material’s issues 
  • Excellent oral and good written communication skills. 
  • Must be a team player and have sound judgment and analytical abilities. 
  • Must have strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize activities. 
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling and demand management 
  • APICS or equivalent training preferred. 
  • Must be proficient with MS Suite 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisory inputs 
  • Day Shift Work Schedule 6.00 AM – 2:30 PM 

  
Salary Range 
Please note the typical hiring range is $29.00 - $44.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
