What You Will Do:

As a Fabrication Painter, you will be responsible for accurately interpreting engineering drawings and checking parts for conformance to specifications. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to the team by supporting departmental goals, assisting fellow team members, and contributing to problem-solving and production efforts in all areas of your job.

This is a full-time position with standard hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and occasional overtime as required.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Mix and apply polyurethane and epoxy paints using HVLP spray guns in conformance to specifications
  • Reads work order, blueprint, or receives instructions from supervisor/team lead regarding painting
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance for all paint related equipment and booth
  • Monitor painting operations to identify/eliminate flaws and correct their causes
  • Verify paint viscosity, using a zahn cup
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner
  • Operate photometric equipment proficiently and adjust light output to meet specifications
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Troubleshoot and make recommendations on tooling designs and process improvements
  • Assist in the development of new processes and in the creation of job aids
  • Provide the status of work orders
  • Prepare masking and other prep work as required
  • Cross trains, permitting movement between work centers
  • Perform moderately complex tasks, which will include prepping, de-prepping, basic painting, potting and bonding.
  • Install hardware and inserts using hardware insert tooling and equipment
  • Follow all Korry safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • Typically requires High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Typically requires 1 years of related experience
  • 2 years in aerospace
  • Prior aerospace painting experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • The ability to read and follow blueprints
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Availability to work overtime as needed to support customer demand

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
  • The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office.
  • Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally use of steps, or ladder.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Seldom to occasionally position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment production roles:

  • This job operates in a professional manufacturing environment.
  • Paint application in a paint booth using appropriate safety equipment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet. 
  • This role routinely uses machinery that requires frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must use hands in a very precise manners when building parts.


Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $24.00 - $28.00 Hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity
