What You Will Do
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and supplies to support production and ensure seamless supply chain operations. This role involves strategic supplier relationship management, negotiation of key contracts, and proactive risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain challenges. The Senior Buyer will also provide leadership in implementing supply chain initiatives and best practices while ensuring compliance with supplier agreements and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with company goals and ensure supply chain stability.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service capabilities, ensuring adherence to approved supplier lists.
Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities.
Oversee procurement activities, including issuing and managing purchase orders, maintaining MRP/ERP system requirements, and expediting deliveries to resolve shortages.
Analyze and optimize inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and production requirements.
Lead initiatives to address part shortages, implement root cause corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex supply chain issues and supplier negotiations.
Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain, including cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and compliance with company standards.
Mentor and guide junior buyers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
Manage Material Review Board (MRB) and Return to Vendor (RTV) processes while ensuring timely resolutions.
Collaborate with engineering and demand planning teams to address changes, maintain MRP accuracy, and communicate updates to suppliers.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
5+ years of industry-related experience within Purchasing and Supply Chain, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
Strong knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, with hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
Proficient in ERP systems, MS Office Suite, and other supply chain-related tools.
Self-motivated, team-oriented leader with the ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: Please note the typical hiring range is $85,000 - $130,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
