Korry Electronics is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who will be able to demonstrate design solutions to problems of moderate scope and sustain ongoing production in a highly regulated environment. Typical tasks include part design, assembly to skeletons defined by others, and simple stress, thermal, and tolerance analysis.  Sustaining activities include support of the display production line for engineering issues incorporating root cause analysis, design alteration and change management.  

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual who can quickly become a contributor to a multi-disciplined development team with limited guidance from more senior engineers. Design activities will include full-cycle development of high-performance electronics and their chassis for new and sustaining programs. This position may require some direct contact with customers to help derive requirements and solve problems they encounter. Technical presentations will occasionally be required as well. 
 
Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in cross-functional design teams 
  • CAD part and assembly modeling using PTC’s Pro-Engineer WF4 / Creo 
  • CAD model configuration control using Intralink 3.4 / PDMLink 
  • Detailed design of mechanical components with basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes to be used for their fabrication 
  • Modeling and analysis of simple mechanical systems (structural and thermal) 
  • Managing the design to meet cost and weight targets 
  • Managing the design to ensure manufacturability 
  • Managing documentation and maintain configuration control in the PLM system 
  • Managing documentation to maintain export compliance 
  • Overseeing testing and qualification of electro-mechanical assemblies 
  • Management and control of non-recurring expense budgets 
  • Communication with customers to resolve technical issues 
  • Conducting failure analysis to determine and correct root cause issues 
  • Conducting prototype and engineering tests for design verification 
  • Creating and conducting technical presentations on the above items 

Preferred Education & Experience: 

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related degree (equivalent experience may qualify) 
  • 5 years of experience 
  • Experience with lighting technologies preferred 
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling software, PTC WF4 or CREO is preferred 
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, dealing with aerospace or in a highly regulated industry desired 
  • Familiar with sheet metal and machined metal manufacturing methods 
  • Familiar with design and manufacturing processes for durable goods 
  • Familiar with NVH and material fatigue 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills 

Salary Range 
Please note the typical hiring range is $95,000 - $125,000 annually. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
